Patterned Triangles

Exactly 1 week before school starts, I decided to make myself busy by assigning a project to myself. I am obsessed with patterns and triangles and was wondering why not I make something by combining those two.

String Heart

So, a few months ago I found a DIY tutorial of a heart made of strings. I was tempted to try it, but never had the time. Finally, I got some free time and decided to try it. All you need for this project are:

- A piece of wood (you can get them for free at Home Depot, on the very back of the store.)
- String (any color you like)
- Spray Paint (optional)
- Nails

I kinda regret that I didn't spray paint the woodblock beforehand. I might want to do something bigger with a darker background sometime in the future. Be careful that the back of the wood might be sharp because of the nails that got through. It took me around 45 minutes to do this project. Might be fun to do different shapes like stars, triangles, or random shapes. Good luck!

Burton Snowboard

Burton snowboard design for women aged 18 to 25. It was inspired by: High School Musical 3 because aged 18 is when they graduate from high school and get their yearbooks. All those doodles and illustrations on scrapbooks or yearbooks reminded me of the joy to freedom. My keywords were: dreamy, fantasy, and joy.

The castle on the middle of the board symbolizes fantasy and happiness because those castles only appears in fairytales and dreams. It symbolizes happiness because it also symbolizes "Disneyland" which is the happiest place on earth. The doodles shows infatuation of high school students where they make drawings on their notebooks.

Print Production

I finally had the chance to blog. I've been busy and lazy to update my blog for this past few weeks. Summer is hereee! I don't have school until October 1, 2012 :) I just made this collage a few days ago, basically my final project from Print Production class. And this is a brochure I made about embossing.

This project was probably the most fun project I've ever done well on. It took me around 60 hours to finish all this. It was totally worth it, all done in Illustrator and InDesign.

I had a great chat with my elementary friend, Leonardo Laurensius who turns out to be in the same field as me. Check out his artworks that he just uploaded. Cheers!

Food

Hello Omnivores,

I have this obsession with... FOOD. So, I have this album on my Facebook consisting all the food I ate for these past few months or year? Anyways, my dad keep telling me that I should go on diet and try not to have chubby cheeks, but I think I got this chubby cheeks from him. Sometimes it makes me look younger, but it also makes me fat. However, I still love my life.

Just a couple of weeks ago, my instructor assigned me a two-week project about choosing 5 letters and design them in a theme of our own choice. I chose, food. It took me quite some time to get the letters right and make sure people see it as letters. My friends were talking about food in class and were saying to others that I have this Facebook album consisting... yumminess. So I guess now everyone in my Illustration class + instructor knows that I'm obsessed with food. Even one of my friends posted this Tumblr site about asians taking pictures of food on my wall which I think is somewhat funny and true.

I recently made a blog about food, check it out guys!

Love Song

I recently got this project from Illustration class where I had to create an illustration for a song of my choice. The song I chose was: Missing You Like Crazy - Michael Alvarado

This is one of my favorite songs and because of this project, I understand the story of the song from the lyrics. The story is about a girl and a boy living far apart. They miss each other, but they couldn't see each other. The reason why I made a ferris wheel is that, the mood of the story reminds me of being on a Disneyland or somewhere happy, but the meaning of the song is sad. When looking at the picture, you can see that the mood is happy, cheerful, happy-go-lucky, and elated, but the people in it are not happy because they are far apart.

My keywords for this piece are: Sunny, Elated, and Colorful

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Finally took off the tape from my hand and this is how it turns out. The lady who made my Henna said it will get darker in a couple of days. My friend's Henna is looking a bit darker and I envy her. I do love how it turns out though! :D

I am doing this Minimalist Poster for Illustration class on Wednesday. This is what I have so far. The keywords are: lucky ones, random, and competition. There are 4 tickets out there, not 5 because during the critique, people say that I shouldn't spoil the plot of the story.

Gotta get back to work. See ya!
